How to identify your Panasonic model
Panasonic bagged cylinders sit almost entirely in the MC-CG range, and the model number is printed on a label on the underside of the machine. The range is unusually consistent, which is why Panasonic is one of the simpler brands to buy bags for once you have confirmed the machine is bagged.
The bag reference is printed on the collar of the fitted bag and on the retail pack. If the machine is empty and second hand, the model number on the underside label is enough to match against the reference listed on this site.

Where Panasonic owners go wrong
- Ordering by the retail pack code alone without checking it covers your model. The pack code and the bag reference are two different strings.
- Assuming an upright or a cordless Panasonic takes the same bag as the cylinder range. It does not.
- Running the machine with the bag door not fully latched. On these models a door that is not closed properly drops suction sharply and is often mistaken for a full bag.
When to change the bag
At two and a half litres the bag is smaller than most rivals, so it fills sooner in ordinary use. Change it at around two thirds full, and change the filters included in the retail pack when you reach the last bag in the box.
