AEG vacuum bags
AEG shares its parent company Electrolux's bag platform. Most AEG cylinder vacuums take the same s-bag as Electrolux models, with newer AEG ranges moving to the GR200S bag alongside their Electrolux equivalents.
How to identify your AEG model
AEG belongs to the Electrolux group and its cylinder machines share the bag platform. The dust compartment door carries the s-bag logo on the models that use the system, which is the quickest confirmation you can get without a part number.
The model code, usually starting with AVQ, VX or LX depending on the generation, is printed on a plate on the underside of the machine. Note it before buying: the newer AEG ranges have moved steadily towards bagless designs and those take no bag at all.

Where AEG owners go wrong
- Searching under the AEG brand only. The identical s-bag is sold under several brand names and the AEG-branded pack is not always the cheapest.
- Assuming a recent AEG is bagged because an older one in the house is. Check the compartment for a bin rather than a bag holder.
- Reading the colour of the bag as a fit difference rather than a filtration grade.
When to change the bag
Fine dust blinds an s-bag well before it is full, and AEG cylinders are quiet enough that the drop in suction is easier to feel than to hear. Change the bag when the machine starts leaving grit behind on a carpet it cleared cleanly a week earlier.

If the compartment holds a clear plastic bin, the machine is bagless by design and needs filter maintenance rather than bags.
